Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose me over an established “Brand Name” repair company?

  • I have 7 years of experience working in the industry of Information Technology. I’ve upgraded, salvaged and replaced hardware in many systems including workstations, servers and laptops. I spend the majority of my week working at a company where computer projects are abundant, and I carry that expertise over to my freelance business.
  • I’ve been custom building computers from bare parts for over 10 years.
  • I respect my customer’s property and data, meaning I won’t go snooping through your email / photos / sensitive information.
  • The problem with “Brand Name” repair companys is that they sacrifice knowledge for profit, which means their agents are quite possibly salesmen in good disguise. This idea of maximizing profit can affect you negatively in more ways than one. In this article, an insider reports of how the company he worked for outsourced some of their repair services to different countries where the laws are not the same and you are not protected from people snooping through your data.

What if you can’t or won’t fix my problem?

  • If for whatever reason I can’t fully deliver on my services, you are only obligated to pay for my travel fee and/or diagnostic fee.
  • If buying a new computer would be more cost effective for you than allowing me to perform several repairs, I’ll let you know that up front before performing any work.
  • Usually this doesn’t happen, but in the rare case that it does, I’ll let you know why and provide you with some information, options or recommendations about how you can proceed.

What if my problem wasn’t actually fixed?

  • It’s not uncommon for some problems to reappear after a while. If you feel like the solution I provided was only temporary or doesn’t work for you, please contact me. Depending on the circumstance, I might correct the issue free of charge.
